Abstract

The resistive critical field of severely drawn Nb increases far beyond the predictions of the GLAG theory for a homogeneous type-II superconductor and becomes anisotropic. Although no model fits the situation exactly, nucleation of superconductivity at dislocation cell walls is a possible explanation.
