Abstract
Studies have been made of a Bayard-Alpert gauge with a modulator. The modulation of the current due to cathode evaporation has been measured. The modulation coefficient of the total residual current has been calculated by using results of this measurement and its value has been found in very good agreement with previously published data. Modulation of this current due to cathode evaporation has been proposed as the process contributing to the residual current modulation of this gauge.
