Abstract
The paper considers the consequences of transformation of the hydrographic network in the Kuma-Manych Depression: the change in the direction of river flows, creation of artificial reservoirs (Manych-Gydilo Lake, Chograi Reservoir, Sostinsk Reservoirs), change in their hydrological regimen over time, and properties of formation of natural complexes in their shores. A decrease in the reservoir water levels and steady growth in mineralization of their waters are shown to have taken place in recent years; it is also shown that they are not always used rationally.
