Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is one solution of short-range wireless communications, it is similar to Bluetooth and WIFI. However, their scope of application is different. Bluetooth is more suitable for intelligent PC terminal, WIFI is related for data transmission and communication with internet. WSN can be applied to intelligent control network, data acquisition and monitoring fields. The hardware of WSN is mainly node which is composed of Micro Control Unit (MCU), sensors and wireless module. The carrier frequency is 2.4 GHz, the data bandwidth is 250kbps, the data link layer and physical layer used IEEE802.15.4 protocol. ZigBee is one of the current wireless solutions, which has network layer and application layer, Zigbee can be applied to many applications. In this paper, the design used the U.S. Texas Instruments' MSP430 family low-power MCU and CC2420 as the core of hardware nodes, and used the hardware nodes which are composed of on-chip integrated system CC2430, and used the Tiny OS system which is operated by University of California, Berkeley, and It's ZigBee protocol stack is provided as a software platform. This paper has Complete the work of data acquisition node design which is based on WSN with the function of data acquisition, transmission applications.
