Abstract
In this article, the author details the history of the Research Library in Olomouc since its founding in 1566 through 2010. It is the second oldest library in the Czech Republic and also one of the major libraries in Central Europe. Later, the author describes the library's most important collections, focusing on manuscripts, incunabula, and the historical collection up to 1800.
