Abstract

Ochotona curzoniae is one of the main creature calamities in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. With the development of advanced biological recognition technologies, a new scientific method is provided for the Ochotona curzoniae's research using the automatic identification system of the Ochotona curzoniae. Image processing is one of the important procedures in the automatic identification system of the Ochotona curzoniae. In this paper, on the basis of research on traditional methods of edge detection, in order to solve the problems existed in the traditional algorithms of the edge detection in Ochotona curzoniae image, the algorithm of edge detection based on grayscale morphology is applied to the edge detection of the Ochotona curzoniae image. The results showed that the methods of edge detection based on mathematical morphology can overcome the problems existed in traditional methods of edge detection in Ochotona curzoniae image, such as noise- sensitive, no clear boundary etc, and can obtain good effect on edge detection. It is benefitial for the follow-up feature extraction and target recognition.
