Abstract

The article analyzes the ethical work of H. Skovoroda's "A Conversation Among Five Travelers Concerning Life's True Happiness" from the standpoint of systematic analytical philosophy. Skovoroda's innovative arguments are defined, in particular regarding the criticism of materialistic hedonism. The significant stylistic difference between the philosophical and theological parts of Skovoroda's text is emphasized. The peculiarities of his philosophical arguments and dogmatic preaching of Christian eudaimonism are highlighted.
