Research Article| January 01 2011 The relevance of adolescence: Using McConville’s writings across the lifespan Adolescence: Psychotherapy and the Emergent Self (1995), by McConville, Mark Peter Motola, Ph.D. Peter Motola, Ph.D. pmortola@lclark.edu Peter Mortola, Ph.D., is Professor of Counseling Psychology at Lewis and Clark's Graduate School of Education and Counseling and Co-Director of the university's nationally approved Educational Specialist degree program in School Psychology. He is the author of Windowframes: Learning the Art of Gestalt Play Therapy the Oaklander Way (2006) and the co-author of BAM! Boys Advocacy and Mentoring: A Leader's Guide to Facilitating Strength-based Groups for Boys (2008). Both of these texts focus on relational methods of working with children and youth in therapeutic settings.
