The research community consists of the (30) badminton players from the University of Mosul. The researcher used the following means to collect the data such as a form of recording the speed of response, and the results of the basic skills tests. The data were analyzed statistically using (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and simple correlation coefficient). The results showed a significant correlation between (motor response speed) and forehand, smash shots. The results also showed a non-significant correlation between (motor response speed), long high serve, short low serve and backhand shot. The researcher recommends emphasizing training badminton players on special exercises to develop the motor response speed, and conducting similar research and studies dealing with the rest of the special physical characteristics of badminton and its association with other basic skills and according to its importance to the game.
