Abstract

Early breastfeeding initiation is the breastfeeding process at the first time that carried out by a mother to her baby. Babies at the age of 30 minutes have to be feed by mothers, not for nutrition (Nutritive Sucking) but to learn how to suckle or to suck the nipples, and also to preparingthe mothers to start producing Breatmilk. As per information from Rural Clinic data of BatuAji – Batam City, it is found that the most partum post is BPM Walladatun islah, Batam City in 2019. The research having an aim to analyze the relationship between initiation of early breastfeeding (IMD) with the fluencyofproducing breast milk in post partum mothers at BPM Walladatun Islah. Type of research used an analytic survey with a cross-sectional approach andthe population research were mothers that giving a baby at BPM Walladatun Islah. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with 35 respondents. The data collection uses a checklist form to monitor the management of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) and a questionnaire for the lactation that is given to respondents on the seventh day of childbirth. The research location was conducted at BPM Walladatun Isji Batu Aji,Batam City. The research period was conducted on 24 th June –8 th August 2019. The data processed and analyzed using statistics with a computer. Chi-square test showed a p value of 0.017 <0.05 means that Ha was accepted to have an IMD relationship with the smooth producing of breast milk in post partum mothers in BPM Walladatun Isji at Batam City in 2019. The comprehensive research needs to be done to enhance the discussion and other interventions need to stimulate the smooth production of breast milk and early breastfeeding initiation activities .
