Abstract

The article presents a research consolidating the study of personality characteristics and behavior patterns in situations of frustration of teachers. The results of the empirical study conducted among representatives of the teaching profession, revealed the most typical types and directions of reactions and their combinations that make up a «frustration profile» of test people in situations when they faced obstacles to achieving the goal. These diagnostic data indicate a trend to asthenia and neuroticism among a sufficiently large part of teachers. Results of the study of teachers’ personality characteristics indicate the possibility of predicting the most probable teachers’ behavior in a real frustrating situation and the need to consider personality traits and subjective qualities of a teacher in deciding on their personality professional suitability to their professional activity content. The research materials can also be used in the development of special measures in order to prevent burnout in teachers.
