Abstract

Introduction: Although ageing is characterised by a decrease in immune function; a few studies have suggested that regular and moderate exercise may improve the immune function. There are a few if any studies that have identified the optimum dose of exercise to enhance the immune function in older persons. The aim of the present study was to examine the influence of exercise frequency on immune function in healthy women aged 64–75 years. Methodology: Twenty-six females (68.5±2.9 years), BMI 27.7±4.6kg/m2 participated in a 6-week study.
