Abstract

We demonstrate a reconfigurable module of ternary optical computer; the modules are basic consisted units of the ternary optical processor. The modules can be reconfigured to realized as any one of the 19683 2-input ternary logic operators to cater for the needs of user, and the reconfigurable process are just to send the right configuration commands. The principle of ternary optical computer and the decrease-radix design theory of the module are brief introduced with an example. The design of the reconfigurable module and the reconfigurable circuit are discussed in detail. The implementation, configuration commands, and the reconfigurable process of the reconfigurable module are detailed introduced with an example. At last, some problems about the reconfigurable module are deeply discussed and analyzed.
