Abstract

The study aimed to identify the current status of applying electronic human resources management at A’Sharqiyah University in the light of Oman’s 20/40 vision in the Sultanate of Oman from the academics’ perspective. To achieve this, the descriptive method was adopted, and a questionnaire was used to collect relevant data. The participants’ responses to all the questionnaire items regarding the application of electronic human resources management at A’Sharqiyah University scored a high to medium degree of agreement. This indicates that the university is at the beginning of implementing Oman’s 20/40 vision, which calls for technological development and adapting to the requirements of the era we live in as well as building the Omani citizens according to the requirements of the modern era. Further, the dimensions of the existing electronic human resources management were ordered as follows: planning, recruitment, incentives and wages, evaluation and training. As for the obstacles to the application of electronic human resources management, all relevant questionnaire items received a medium degree of agreement by the respondents., which is another evidence that A’Sharqiyah University is heading in persistence towards implementing Oman’s 20/40 vision. The study recommended moving towards the optimal path and activating the role of electronic human resources management in the training process, as it is the most effective element in this era.
