Abstract

Abstract The pulse-radiolysis technique combined with the atomic resonance absorption method was used for the measurement of the room-temperature rate constants of the reactions of hydrogen and oxygen atoms with fluoroethylenes. The rate constants obtained at 298±2 K are as follows, in units of 10−12 cm3 molecule−1s−1 (1 cm3molecule−1 s−1=6.022×1017 m3 mol−1s−1). The standard deviation is within 10%. (Remark: Graphics omitted.) The correlation between the rate constants and the reactivity index calculated by the INDO method is discussed.
