Abstract

Justus Randolph recently completed a PhD dissertation which is a methodological review of computer science education research. His review is based upon 352 CSEd articles published between 2000 and 2005. While I do not agree with all aspects of Randolph's argument, it is a thought provoking dissertation. It is downloadable from a website [2] and I believe that most people who are active in CSEd Research should read it. To whet your appetite for the entire dissertation, I recommend that you first read the paragraph at the top of page 162, which begins " The typical computer science education research paper is . . . "
