Abstract
A description is given of the radiological changes of bone seen in West African negroes suffering from tropical ulcer of the lower part of the leg. These commence as a local periostitis, which may develop into extensive osteomyelitis, and some of the differences between these changes and those of syphilis and yaws occurring in the same country are described. A possible etiology of the bone changes is discussed.
