Abstract
AbstractA weak sequence of lines in the Raman spectrum of tetrahydrofuran vapour around 270 cm−1 has been observed for the first time and is assigned to combination transitions between the pseudorotational‐radial states of the five‐membered ring. With the aid of these lines an interpretation for the complex infrared band in the same region is suggested. A suitable Hamiltonian is applied to the pseudorotation energy levels in the ground and the first excited radial state.
