Abstract

Background: For women with BRCA1/2 mutations risk-reducing bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (RRBSO) to reduce the risk of primary ovarian cancer is often performed, however the surgery results in immediate onset of surgical menopause. The aim of this research was to explore the psychosexual impacts of risk reducing bilateral salpingo oophorectomy in the published qualitative literature.
