Abstract
The use of formal description techniques to describe the behaviour of concurrent systems is still increasing. With the growing complexity of the problems tackled using formal methods, the need for support by computer tools is becoming more and more apparent. This paper describes a tool environment for the formal specification language PSF. An introduction to PSF, as well as to the internal languages used by the toolkit is given. The three main tools from the toolkit described in this paper are a term rewriter, a simulator and a proof assistant. We discuss experiences in usage and links with other tool environments. A comparison between PSF and LOTOS has been included in an appendix.
