Abstract

Based on classical EM field theory, the distributions of energy density and energy flow velocity in the 2-D cylinder cloak have been calculated. Due to the variable and special electromagnetic (EM) parameters, theoretical results indicate that the EM fields, EM energy density and EM energy flow are non-uniform in the cloak shell. The numerical simulations show that there is superluminal phenomena of the velocity of energy flow in the cloak shell, whether the EM field transmit along x-direction or along y-direction.
