Abstract

The primary goal of this chapter is to outline the key points of the trade policy reforms that have taken place in India since 1991, focusing on the changes that have occurred both before and after the reforms. Specifically, a comprehensive analysis that aims to comprehend the key components of the trade policy reform initiatives. Using the many metrics of India's international trade performance throughout the Reform years, as well as the direction and makeup of India's imports and exports, the movements in India's external sector have been examined in depth.
