Abstract

The need for, and retention of, knowledge workers in HEI has become important source of competitive advantage. International Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Sub-Sahara Africa have increasingly focused their attention on the recruitment of its own citizens trained in the developed world. Many studies have been done on reverse brain drain generally, with little attention paid to retention of reverse brain drain gain in international HEIs. Through an exploratory case study at a HEI in Sub-Sahara Africa, the study presents a model that highlights the factors that determine retention of reverse brain gain knowledge workers in international HEI.
