Abstract

On the basis of experimental results on the effect of weak inhibitors on the nature of the kinetic curves, it is suggested that the cause of the marked acceleration of suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride at high degrees of conversion is not only disruption of the isothermal nature of the process, as is usually assumed, but also the increase in viscosity of the polymer phase.
