Abstract

The ethanol steam reforming (ESR) reaction to produce hydrogen has been studied, from an experimental point of view, in a dense palladium membrane reactor (MR). This experimental work is mainly devoted to maximize the pure hydrogen production by investigating the effect of a key parameter in the membrane reactor: the reaction pressure. Experimental results, in terms of ethanol conversion as well as hydrogen production and gases selectivity for MRs and a traditional reactor (TR), are proposed.
