Abstract

[Ed. Note: This brief overview of a national curriculum provides an example of curriculum construction devoid of local influence as described in the previous paper. It would be interesting to compare the contents of the materials produced by these specialists for use on the reserves of western Canada with those produced by the natives in that area in terms of sensitivity, and in terms of the native perception of their membership in the material body politic. Perhaps there are two levels of cultural awareness-the local community and the maternal communityboth of equal importance in a pluralistic society.]
