The precipitation of some actinide element complex ions by using hexammine cobalt(III) cation—IV: The precipitation of uranium(VI) peroxo complex ion with hexammine cobalt(III) ion

Abstract

The precipitation behaviors of uranium(VI) peroxo complex ion have been investigated with hexammine cobalt(III) cation. This precipitation reaction produces [ Co( NH 3) 6] 4[( UO 2) 2( O 2) 4] 3 nH 2O, which changes to monoperoxo species by hydrolysis in water. Monoperoxo species i.e. [Co(NH 3) 6] 4[(UO 2) 2(O 2) 2(OH) 4] 312H 2O belongs to a tetragonal system with a = 7·18 A ̊ and c = 13·02 A ̊ .
