Abstract

As two advanced practice nurses (APRNs) new to the deep south of Louisiana, there is much that we relish—the Cajun accent, the exhaustive resiliency of the people here who bounce back time and again from extreme adversity, and the Southern hospitality of strangers who are instant friends in the first 5 minutes after having met them. Michelle Collins, PhD, CNM is dean and professor, College of Nursing and Health Loyola University New Orleans, LA, and can be contacted at [email protected] . Cherie Burke, DNP, CRNA, is Director of the School of Nursing, Associate Professor College of Nursing and Health, Loyola University New Orleans, LA.
