Abstract
Abstract There is a clear need for support for families outside of traditional formal mental health services, given significant problems accessing interventions and navigating provision. Peer support groups, where families can help each other, may have a number of advantages. They can be used for emotional support and expression as well as places to receive and provide advice. This chapter aims to consider the advantages and limitations of peer support for families of children and young people with mental health difficulties. It considers specific examples relating to internet-delivered peer support for parents of children and young people with mental health difficulties.
