Abstract

As a matter of fact, music therapy becomes a novel method on accout of the rapid development of high performances computation for music generation based on computing. The essay provides an in-depth look at how computer-assisted music synthesis has developed and how AI is increasingly being integrated into the creation of music for mental health applications, especially in the treatment of depressive disorders. It begins with a review of the historical context of computer music and the progression of AI in music generation, then moves on to discuss the underlying principles and clinical applications of music therapy.The study highlights how AI can enhance therapeutic interventions, acknowledges current limitations, and proposes future directions. By examining foundational concepts, theoretical underpinnings, practical applications, and emerging challenges, this paper contributes to understanding music's role in promoting well-being and addressing mental health disorders. The transformative potential of AI-driven music interventions is emphasized, advocating for interdisciplinary collaboration and responsible AI practices to enhance personalized treatment strategies.
