The pharmacotherapy of diabetic encephalopathy

Abstract

An increasing number of researches indicate that long-term hyperglycemia can damage the central nervous system and cause cognitive dysfunction,then develop into diabetes encephalopathy.Diabetic encephalopathy is characterized by cognitive dysfunction and failure of learning and memory.Although its pathogenic mechanism is not clear,diabetic encephalopathy has already become a hot topic today.The pharmacotherapy of diabetes encephalopathy includes vasoactive drugs,agents acting on G-protein coupled receptors,antioxidant drugs and some other medicines.
