Abstract

The problem of fault self-diagnosis in multiprocessor systems has been received more attentions in recent years. The process of identifying faulty processors is called the diagnosis of the system. Several different models have been proposed for self-diagnosis of a system. The PMC model, introduced by F.P. Preparata et al., is the more popular one for level diagnosis in multiprocessor systems. The pessimistic diagnosis strategy is a classic diagnostic model based on the PMC model in which isolates all faulty nodes within a set having at most one fault-free node. In this paper, we completely determine the pessimistic diagnosability of an n-dimensional Split-Star Networks denoted by Sn2 under the PMC model. Furthermore, the pessimistic diagnosability of Sn2 is 4n−9 where n≥4.
