Abstract

Using a critical meta-ethnographic analysis, this paper explores the status of women's studies programs from an organizational perspective in U.S. higher education. Specifically, I draw on previous literature on women's studies program to synthesize and examine how women's studies function U.S. colleges and universities. Ultimately, analysis concluded that women's studies programs - while significant to the rise of academic programs derived from social justice movements - perpetuate neoliberalism and academic capitalism in the academy.
