Abstract
RATIONALE: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a burdensome public health problem. The hallmark of CRS is extensive sinus mucosal inflammation. A number of studies have shown the presence of T cells, eosinophils, and Th1 and Th2 cytokines in the sinus tissue of patients with CRS. The main objective of this study was to determine whether the fraction of regulatory T cells (Tregs) differs in the peripheral blood of subjects with CRS compared to healthy individuals.
