Abstract

AbstractThe parasusceptibility, 𝔵p, of Gd single crystals was measured in the temperature range between 4.2 and 290 K, and in the field range from 0.07to 3.0 T. Below 0.8 Tc the parasusceptibility depends linearly on temperature and the field dependence follows a H‐0.44. law. The experimental results are interpreted by means of the spin wave theory taking into account the indirect exchange coupling, the dipolar interactions, and the anisotropy of the energy spectrum of the conduction electrons.
