Abstract

The photon energy absorption parameters viz. mass energy absorption coefficient (μ/ρ)en, photon energy absorption effective atomic number (ZPEAeff) and electron density (Ne) has been computed by a direct method in the energy range from 1 keV to 20 MeV for silicate glass containing with BaO, PbO and Bi2O3. The dependence of different parameters on incident photon energy and chemical composition of the silicate glasses has been studied. The obtained results showed that the variations of these parameters are change with energy and chemical composition of the BaO, PbO and Bi2O3. The variation of photon energy absorption parameter is due to the variations in domination of different interaction processes in different energy regions.
