Abstract

AbstractNanocrystalline magnesium oxide was found to be an effective heterogeneous, solid base catalyst for the one‐pot Wittig reaction to afford α,β‐unsaturated esters and nitriles in excellent yields with high E‐stereoselectivity in the presence of triphenylphosphine under mild conditions.
