Abstract
Catherine is an advanced nurse practitioner working in a large general practice in the north of England. She works alongside her medical colleagues and receives and treats patients with undifferentiated complaints. Margaret, a 64 year-old woman, is presenting today with vague symptoms. She is reluctant to come and get help and is fearful of what the consequences might be.
