Abstract
AbstractIn the lock-in phenomenon, to investigate the mechanism of replacement of flow patterns, the numerical simulation using a vortex method was performed. The calculation was carried out by two dimensional. Test fluid is water and the Reynolds number based on the diameter of the circular cylinder is Re = 500. The calculation parameters are oscillating amplitude ratio 2a/d and oscillation frequency ratio f/fK. The oscillating amplitude ratios are 0.0 and 0.5. Here, when an oscillating amplitude ratio is 0.0, it is in a circular cylinder stationary state. The oscillation frequency ratio f/fK was varied between 0 and 3. Each calculation was carried out to the non-dimensional time T = 100. As a result, the time history of fluid force was obtained and some flow patterns seen in the time history were obtained. It was found that each component of fluid force which acts on the circular cylinder affects changes of the flow pattern greatly.KeywordsVortex FlowFluid ForceNumerical Simulation
