Abstract
ABSTRACTThe NISO E-Book Metadata Working Group is developing a Recommended Practice, intended for publication in Spring 2018, which includes analysis of the roles and workflows of various stakeholders in the ebook life cycle (from sales to publication to discovery and delivery to preservation) and creates recommendations for all parties regarding the applications of various types of metadata. The Working Group hopes that a better understanding across all parties about these stakeholder roles and their utilization of metadata will enable harmonization and elimination of duplicate work, leading to better information and services for end users to discover and use ebooks in library collections.
