Abstract

This article aims to explore briefly the characteristics of Caulerpa racemosa, a species of algae that has recently introduced itself to the Montenegrin coast, as well as the potential threat of a more aggressive variety, Caulerpa taxifolia. The algae location and identification are detailed, along with elaboration on how the positive public reaction to this new threat may help lead to increased cooperation on such environmental issues, as is evidenced by various forms of national and international projects being developed in the region.
