Abstract

In this article we will analyze and evaluate the structure, function and principle of the current Negotiation Support Systems (NSS). Furthermore, we will argue that NSS is an excellent tool for solving the non-structured negotiation problems because it allows the integration of computer systems with the analysis methods for the complicated problems. Since negotiation is an essential part of the electronic commerce (EC), it is necessary to find technologies that can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the web-based negotiation. Much of the NSS reo search has been concentrated on describing particular systems that was devised to support different aspects of the negotiation. Most of the developed NSS are usually used for negotiation teaching and training. This article discusses a new kind of NSS called Electronic Commerce-oriented Negotiation Support System, which supports remote negotiations over simple or complex problems in EC situations. Moreover, this article will show that the advancement of the Internet the Electronic Commerce-oriented Negotiation Support System will be the most common NSS that is utilized.
