Abstract
River basin management often extends over national boundaries and is thus sometimes subject to international conflicts. Coastal zone management is often local, regional and international. The Neretva River’s basin and coastal area have created an international management problem between Bosnia-Herzegovina (B&H) and Croatia with multiple issues at stake, such as pollution of the estuary and sea, flood protection, water supply, and the management of special protection of estuary and marine areas.
