Abstract

The degree of aggregation of zirconyl ion in strong hydrochloric acid solutions is estimated from light scattering data. The principle species in 2·800 M HCl is a trimer with a charge of plus three. In 0·750 M HCl the predominant species is apparently a hexamer with a charge between plus five and plus six.
