Abstract

Mr. Fincham (October Bulletin) perfectly exemplifies the attitude to Applied Science which Professor Thring castigated in his article (August Bulletin). The decision to adopt a 'spiritual' occupation (Mr. Fincham's description of 'pure' science) is a decision to live off the useful 'squo;materialistic' labour of others. A priest who lives from the individual contributions of his flock is doing this honestly.
