C., and its environs affords an excellent opportunity to study the disease in its many manifestations. Our experience has suggested to us that some of the current teaching concerning syphilitic cardiovascular disease may be on less firm ground than, for example, in rheumatic heart disease. In order to evaluate more objectively a number of features of syphilitic involvement of the cardiovascular system, the authors have reviewed a large amount of autopsy material and attempted to relate it to the clinical course of the patient before death....Bibliography1.
