Abstract
The second part of the study deals with essential aspects of the Romanian decades in the history of the city and the county of Cahul, such as the socio-professional structure of the population and the occupations of the inhabitants, the state and evolution of trade, transport and communications; health care and the health status of the population and, last but not least, the evolution of culture and education in the interwar years. The cited data is an eloquent proof of the fact that the population, economy and social life as a whole in the city and county of Cahul between the two world wars followed the established modernization model of Western Europe. As for cultural life and education in the city and county of Cahul, the analysis carried out proves that in those years it was possible to create a school centered on democratic values, principles and norms, in which the quality of the teaching staff was reflected not only in the teaching activity, in the evaluation of the students and students, in edifying and credible exams, but also in its contribution to the life of the community. The recognition of the truth that education is the fundamental field for raising the level of culture and life of the people, for the training of cadres necessary for the economy, administrative life, social, political, scientific activity, etc., ensured it an essential place in the interwar Romanian society.
