Abstract
Highly skilled specialists from different sectors of the economy, initiative, purposeful, capable of navigating in a constantly changing world, able to solve various problems of the economic sphere of civil society’s life are needed for successful development of any state’s economy. It requires from the personality not only the readiness to keep to labor ethics in the adult professional life (labour culture, communicability, obligatoriness, personal responsibility), but also the necessary level of economic knowledge.The article proposes a structural and functional model of students’ entrepreneurial competence formation in US secondary schools based on the analysis of theoretical sources and practical American experience. The main blocks (target, content, organizational activity, evaluation and result) are substantiated and characterized. Components of these blocks (purpose, task, motivational value, cognitive, practical, content filling, stages, levels and result) are studied in detail and acquire through the methods of achieving the goal representing students’ entrepreneurial competence formation which allows a student to completely realize himself in the career of an entrepreneur. Thus, the presented author’s structural and functional model expands the idea of the possibility of using the positive American experience of secondary school students’ entrepreneurial competence formation in domestic practice. This model reflects the most significant characteristics of the process of development of secondary school students’ entrepreneurial competence in US, thereby, providing the opportunity for effective adaptation of American educational programs for usage in Ukrainian schools.
