Abstract
Compositions of [(Pb0.95Sr0.05)1-xBix][(Zr0.53Ti0.47)1-xAlx]O3 (0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.06), which are the equimolar Bi3+ (donor) and Al3+ (acceptor) co-doped PZT ceramics near morphotropic phase boundary(MPB), were prepared by the conventional solid state reaction process. The ferroelectric, dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the PZT ceramics were discussed. The ceramics exhibited a high coercive field (Ec = 15 kV/cm) as well as a high piezoelectric coefficient (d33 = 390 pC/N) when x = 0.02, which have an excellent potential for piezoelectric applications.
