Abstract
Objective To explore the mental status and nursing in elderly diabetic patients.Methods Zung's self-rating depression scale (SDS) and self- rating anxiety scale (SAS) were applied to make an assessment to the emotion in elderly diabetic patients.Patients in control group were received with conventional care,the experimental group was given helth education,supportive psychotherapy of family and society,relaxing training,etc.The scores were compared before and after intervention.Results The scores of anxiety and depression in elderly diabetic patients were improved in the experimental group (P ＜0.01 ),Conclusions The symptoms of anxiety and depression in elderly diabetic patients are apparently improved by holistic nursing,improved quality of life.
